KINROSS Wolaroi School matched it with their metropolitan rivals at last week’s NSW Rugby Samsung 10s Carnival in Parramatta.
The under 15s side came away with the A Division title and the under 13s finished equal third in the B Division tournament.
The under 15s, under the guidance of coach Nik Granger and assistant Charlie Hayes, showed improvement as the day went on.
They lost their first game to Westfield Sports High but came back and beat them in a later round.
The boys defeated Prairiewood Sports High to win the A Division title.
“Congratulations to the boys for the spirit in which they played their games, often against much bigger opponents,” Granger said.
“They played with great intensity and control an deserved their victory.”
The under 13s had wins against St Ives, Winmalee and Mitchell and drew nil-all with Northmead High to finish on top of their pool.
Kinross then lost their semi-final four tries to nil to eventual B Division winners St Paul’s Manly.
Jack Yeomans was a standout for the under 13s and Billy Freeman and Brendan Jarrett were also consistent.
