SOFTBALL
ORANGE softballer Alisha Watson has been invited to attend the state team trials for the under 16 girls side after impressing at the NSW Championship last month.
Watson will attend a camp this weekend along with around 60 other state hopefuls where they will undertake fitness testing and extensive game-based skills training.
It is an impressive invite for the 14-year-old given her age and the fact that Orange managed to win just one game at the State Championship.
Watson is yet to represent NSW at previous levels but has played for Western Region on a number of occasions at school level.
In other good news for Orange softball, Orange’s over 35 masters team finished fifth at a recent tournament in Sydney.
