ORANGE golfers were showing knowledge of their own course is invaluable as they held the lead in most divisions at the Orange Veterans Tournament after yesterday’s individual stableford at Duntryleague.

Late yesterday afternoon, Max Madden from the host club was leading the men’s division one section after scoring 38 points from his round, while Bankstown’s Barry McGuimm was second on 37 points.

Lorie Leahey was also flying the Duntryleague flag in the division one ladies, as she was in a three-way tie for first on 36 points.

The Duntryleague pair of Jack Neville and Ferdi Boers were tied for second in the men’s division two, three points behind Jim Addison from Wentworth Falls.

Duntryleague also managed second in the corresponding ladies’ division, as Dorothy Collins finished three points behind Eva Flowers from Pennant Hills.

Ex-Services continued Orange’s prominence at the top of the leader board in men’s division three, with Roger Bonham leading the field, while North Ryde’s Fay Gant tops the ladies’ division three field.
