CROSS COUNTRY
A GROUP of 10 Orange Runners’ Club members will be tearing up the track at today’s NSW All Schools Cross Country Championships.
The state championships are for school students at both the primary and secondary levels.
Public school students from the region will represent Western, Kinross Wolaroi School students are part of the NSW Combined Independent Schools team and James Sheahan Catholic High School runners are in the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges team.
All teams are represented in the ORC ground of runners.
Included in the group are Jess Aseguinolaza, Chris Cotten, Dan Bruton, Matt Cotten, Laura Wolfson, Todd Lang, Max Brownlow, Joey Thorley, Katie Strike and Nelson Harris.
The championships will be held at Eastern Creek, with each age group covering different distances.
From the championships a NSW team will be selected to compete at the School Sport Australia National Championships next month.
The top six results in the 10 years’, 11 years’ and 12 years’ age groups in the primary divisions, and the under 14, under 16, under 18 and under 20 age division in the secondary divisions will qualify for the NSW team.
The national event will be held from August 22-25 in Melbourne.
