White celebrates triple treat

ORANGE fast bowler Matthew White has taken a career-first hat-trick in a first grade game for his Scottish side Dundee Former Pupils Cricket Club.

White captured his hat-trick by bowling all three batsmen; the first hitting leg-stump, the second middle stump and the third hitting off-stump. After the hat-trick White got another wicket caught behind as he finished with 4-22.

The 19-year-old fast bowler was elated at the effort, with his line and length bowling suiting the conditions overseas.

He has taken 20 wickets as an amateur in the first half of the season.

White has now changed clubs by belatedly picking up a ‘pro’ position with the Walton Club in the Wetherby Cricket League, north of London. They are the leaders in the senior division two competition.

He will play in a professional role for the club for the last half of the season, before returning to Orange in early September to resume battles with the Cavaliers Cricket Club for the new season.
