Women injured in two-car collision

7/10/2008 7:53:00 AM
PASSERS-BY ran to the aid of two young women in a Mitsubishi Lancer who were injured when their car crashed into a tree after a two-car collision yesterday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Woodward St about 100 metres south of the main entrance to Endeavour Oval at 5.15pm.

When ambulance officers arrived both young women had got out of their vehicle after it hit a tree and were being comforted nearby on the ground.

The second vehicle involved in the crash, a Nissan Navara, sustained front-end damage.

The vehicle with the female driver and passenger was a write off.

Witnesses grabbed blankets from vehicles to keep the victims warm until police and ambulance arrived in deteriorating wet and cold conditions.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
