ABC shops not closing just yet

18/05/2008 6:53:00 PM
NEVER fear your local ABC Centre is still here.

There were newspaper reports last week ABC shops across Australia would close, with merchandise being sold through book store Dymocks instead.

With Boomers Bookshop and ABC Centre’s normal shop front in the Orange City Centre being renovated, owner Andrew Ryan ensured the store was sticking around.

For the time being Boomers is trading around the corner on Anson Street until the work is completed.

“It’s not the case,” Mr Ryan said about the newspaper reports. “We’re trading business as usual. We’re due back in the centre at the end of May.”

ABC runs 41 ABC Shops across Australia, while there are 99 ABC Centres, which are privately owned franchises.
