MOST people would object to being compared to Ivan Milat.
Maybe not so much to Ron Jeremy, though.
The name-calling and the fun among the men at John Davis Motors has been in full swing over the first half of Movember.
Some brilliant – and pitiful – moustache growing has emerged from 17 staff in the name of charity.
Movember helps to raise awareness of men's health issues such as prostate cancer and depression.
Ben Davis, who was taunted with lines like “it's OK, I'm sure they can photo shop a mo on you”, said the team now planned to participate in Movember annually.
“It's for a great cause. It's not that hard to grow a bit of hair on your lip – well it is for some of us – to raise money for prostate cancer and depression,” he said.
“It's also a chance for a bit of bonding – we give it to each other and are having a good laugh.
“Some of the guys have had goatees and moustaches for years – and they've had to get rid of those to be involved. So it was a big effort for a few blokes.
“It also gets these issues out there. Blokes are their own doctors, as everyone knows, but it's important to talk about these things.”
Donation's can be made to the team's cause at John Davis Motors, with Mazda and Alco Battery Sales also chipping in funds.
